Dr. Allie Duffy, PT, Founder
Allie Duffy is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, an expert in movement analysis, and a certified Pilates instructor, comprehensively trained by Polestar Pilates. She graduated from the University of Connecticut as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015, before moving to Boston to practice physical therapy with a specialization in outpatient orthopedics.
After finding many limitations with traditional exercise programs for herself, and her patients, Allie turned to Pilates for a new approach. She began training with the Polestar Pilates program as a rehabilitation provider, and has been teaching group classes and private lessons since 2016. She has worked with clients ranging from “weekend warriors” to professional athletes and has seen the transformative powers of Pilates in their movement efficiency.
After publishing a research paper on the importance of physical activity and fitness throughout the lifespan, Allie has continued to expand her clinical skills through advanced training in manual therapy, spinal manipulation techniques, and the importance of mindfulness in healing. Allie has taught numerous workshops to other healthcare providers on the applications of Pilates for Sports Medicine, including the Harvard Medical School Sports Medicine Conference.
After 5 years of practicing in the traditional healthcare setting, Allie decided to open The Pilates Rx to allow for more personalized attention with her clients, and to integrate the brilliance of Pilates for the modern athlete.

"The Pilates RX has quickly become my favorite virtual workout and PT resource. Virtual sessions with Allie will have you feeling like she is right there in the room with you! With her flexible scheduling and recorded classes I have been able to utilize The Pilates RX resources all the way from California."
"Allie is amazing. Her classes move at just the right pace for me; her instructions are incredibly precise, and she always finds the perfect metaphor that helps you click into place. Most important, I getting stronger and more fluid in my movements. My posture, gait and balance are improving and I'm happier with the look and feel of my body. This is state-of-the art stuff. Nothing sloppy or woo woo about it. I had no idea that so many muscles comprise the core! "
"I could not recommend this place more! After suffering from a running injury for more than half the year (and seeing other PT's, doing therapy, etc.) without much success, I decided to see Allie for another evaluation. She took the time to really listen to my concerns and came up with recommendations that involved tweaking my running technique and identified a low back issue that I had never been told before from any other PT! Within a week I was already seeing results, and today I am out running 5+ miles without pain. DREAM COME TRUE! Speaking as a fellow medical professional, Allie is incredibly knowledgeable and a MUST to go see!! "
"I had the best PT session of my life! I have EDS and have experienced pain with basic movement since I was 8 years old. Allie Duffy uses a wholistic approach (not just focusing on 1 body part at a time) combining aspects of physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massage, pilates and an overall understanding of how nerves, muscles and joints function/move together to treat patients. She went the extra mile to educate me on the why and how each step of the way. Today I started relearning body movement and, for the first time in 30 years, moved without pain. I cried with joy and hope. "
